Diminished Value Appraisals & Insurance Claim Representation

Recover the market value your vehicle lost after an accident. Comprehensive reports combined with direct insurance carrier representation.

Money Back Guarantee

$199 Down to start, with the remaining $299 due only after the insurance company delivers an offer. If our full fee ($498) is not covered in the resulting insurance offer, we guarantee a full refund of our $498 fee.

Comparing guarantees? Ask any Diminished Value company these questions first:

  • Does your guarantee require me to go to court to collect?
  • Does it cover the full fee, or just part of it?
  • Is the guarantee spelled out here, or buried in a separate terms page?

Our answers: No court required. Full fee refunded. And it's spelled out right above — nothing else to go dig up.

From form submissions to serving as your authorized liaison with the insurance company, we handle it all — the process stays online and hands-off for you. Reach your appraiser anytime by text, call, or email.

Calculated using our proprietary valuation formula, built and used exclusively by our firm — no other diminished value firm calculates it this way. It draws on as much real-world live market data as is available for your specific vehicle, adjusted using J.D. Power mileage depreciation rates.

This is an estimated range based on historical market data, not a guarantee of recovery. Your actual settlement will vary based on your vehicle's condition, accident history, and insurance carrier.

How It Works

1

Get Your Instant Estimate

Use the calculator above to see your personalized recovery range, calculated in real time from your vehicle's exact VIN — not a generic average.

2

Submit Online

Fill out your info and upload your documents and photos from your phone or computer — no office visit, no in-person inspection required.

3

We Represent You

We build your formal appraisal report and serve as your authorized technical representative, communicating your claim's figures directly with the insurance company — you're not on the phone with an adjuster. You'll hear from us in your portal and by email at least weekly, even between milestones.

4

You Get Paid

Once we reach a settlement, you receive your payout. If it doesn't cover our full fee, you get your money back — guaranteed.

What is Diminished Value?

Even after a vehicle is repaired following an accident, its market value drops permanently simply because it now has a recorded damage history. When you sell or trade in your car, buyers will pay significantly less compared to an identical vehicle with a clean history. That lost financial value is known as Diminished Value.

At Estimate Consultants, we do not just hand you a report—we draft a formal, fully documented Diminished Value Appraisal and represent your claim directly on your behalf to recover exactly what we feel the vehicle is worth.

At-Fault & 3rd-Party Claim Notice: Diminished Value claims require that you were not at fault for the collision. The claim must be submitted through the responsible party's insurance carrier. Please note: Even if you elected to have your vehicle repaired through your own insurance policy for convenience or speed, you retain the full legal right to pursue a separate 3rd-party Diminished Value claim against the at-fault driver's insurer.
Claim Eligibility Requirements: Vehicles with prior accidents, over 10 years old, or over 100k miles do not make good candidates for DV and we are not likely to accept claims for these vehicles.
Virtual Inspection & Special Vehicles Exclusions: We work virtually, and while that is great for everyday vehicles, we do not accept exotic, vintage, or collectors cars due to the necessity of having in-person inspections to properly identify and appraise them.
State Exclusions for DV Claims: Diminished Value appraisal claims are not offered in Nebraska (NE) or Michigan (MI).

Common Questions

What if the insurance company won't pay, or the offer is too low?

That's exactly what our Money-Back Guarantee covers. If the resulting insurance offer doesn't cover our full $498 fee, we refund our fee — so you're never out of pocket for a low outcome.

How long does the process take?

It could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the carrier. What we can promise is how you'll hear about it: we update your portal and email you at every step of the process — and even when there's nothing new to report yet, you'll still hear from us at least once a week. Every time we email or call, we tell you exactly what's next and how long the wait should be. Internally, we set strict deadlines and follow-up reminders on every file, so nothing sits waiting on someone's desk.

What if the insurance company denies my claim?

It does happen. We document and address every concern an adjuster raises, but some companies or adjusters will still deny a claim outright. When that happens, we escalate the claim as high up the chain as we can before considering it closed. If it's still denied after that, your completed appraisal is yours to keep and use as you see fit — and if the resulting offer is $498 or less, our Money-Back Guarantee still applies. From there, the typical next step is small claims court. We're not a law firm and this isn't legal advice, so we'd recommend speaking with an attorney if you want to pursue that route.

Do I need to bring my car in for an inspection?

No — we work 100% virtually. You'll submit photos of your vehicle along with your repair estimate or final bill, and that's all we need to build your appraisal.

What if I don't qualify for Diminished Value?

Not qualifying for Diminished Value doesn't mean you're out of options. We hold ourselves to strict criteria so that every claim we take on is one where we're genuinely positioned to get you paid what you're owed, not a penny less — that's why we don't take on classic, exotic, or collector vehicles (they need an in-person inspection to appraise properly) or certain 1st-party claims. But we still handle Total Loss, Estate & Probate, Bank & Collateral, IRS Vehicle Donation, and Divorce/Legal Settlement appraisals. Call us at 910-333-6001 and we'll help point you toward the right fit, even if that's not us.
